Privacy and data
What’s analysed on your computer, what’s saved in your account (your session videos, privately) and what the AI sees.
On this page
Racketlens analyses your videos on your computer. What’s saved in your account is yours and private. This page explains, with no small print, what happens to each thing.
The essentials#
- The analysis runs on your device. The video plays and is analysed in your browser.
- Without an account nothing is uploaded. Everything stays in that browser.
- With your account, your analysis and your session videos are saved, privately, so you can open and analyse them on any device. You can delete them or turn uploading off.
- A stroke is uploaded only when you choose, or your typical stroke when you scan (you can turn that off).
- The AI sees a few cropped frames, never the video, and only when you ask it something.
What happens to each thing#
| What | Where it stays | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Your video | On your computer. The app reads it from the disk. | Nobody else |
| Your full session video (signed in, with Upload my session videos on) | In your account, in private storage, as it is (not re-encoded) | You, on any device where you sign in |
| The scan, body tracking and ball tracking | Computed in your browser | Nobody else |
| Your analysis (scan results, markers, drawings, court, ball tracks, AI reviews, small pictures of your key frames) | In this browser and in your account | You, on any device where you sign in |
| Your players, practice plan and progress reviews | In your account | You |
| Your typical stroke from each scan (a few seconds, if you leave the box ticked) | In your account, in private storage | You |
| Strokes you upload with the cloud icon (a few seconds, 720p) | In your account, in private storage | You |
| An AI coach review | About 10 cropped frames of the stroke and its measurements are sent | Anthropic (Claude), to answer |
| An AI progress review | Only the numbers from your history are sent | Anthropic (Claude), to answer |
Your session videos#
When you’re signed in, every video of yours that you open uploads to your account, so you can open and analyse it on another device without the file. See Your sessions on any device.
- It’s private. It’s kept in private storage, separate per account and player. It can only be read through temporary links the app asks for on your account.
- It doesn’t go through our servers. Your browser uploads it straight to storage and plays it from there.
- The AI doesn’t see it. The AI coach still gets only a few cropped frames when you ask it something.
- You’re in control. On Home, under Videos in your account, you see each video and the space they use, delete one with Delete from account, or switch off Upload my session videos so nothing more is uploaded. With it off, new videos stay only on your devices.
The pro clips#
The pro videos are a few seconds cut from public YouTube videos, credited to each channel. They’re served from separate public storage: your strokes are never in the same place.
Deleting your data#
- A cloud stroke: under Cloud strokes (home screen), Delete. The video is removed from the cloud; its analysis is kept.
- A session video: under Videos in your account (home screen), Delete from account. It’s removed from your account; its analysis is kept and the file stays on your devices.
- An AI review or progress review: with each one’s delete button.
- A video in your recents: on the home screen, the Forget this video and its analysis button removes it from this browser. The copy of its analysis in your account is kept.
- A player: Archive hides them without deleting their analyses.
Want a copy of an analysis? In Video, Back up to a file. If you’d like your account deleted with all its data, ask your coach.
Signed out#
If you ever use the app signed out (on your own computer, say), everything stays in that browser only and no video is uploaded. When you sign in, that browser’s analyses are added to your account.
