Drills and practice plan

Everything to work on comes with drills for the court. How to read a drill card, build your practice plan and check in Racketlens whether it worked.

On this page

Racketlens doesn’t stop at the diagnosis: everything it finds comes with something to do on court. There’s a library of 58 drills for the forehand, one- and two-handed backhands and the serve, and a practice plan per player where you tick off what you did.

Where drills show up#

  • Session: Drills for this session, picked for what the scan found.
  • Pros: in your recommended model, a drill under each fundamental to work on.
  • AI coach: under each change the AI coach suggests.
  • History → Practice: your plan and drills for what your latest session says.
  • The home screen: your plan, in short.
Drills recommended for what the scan found, with the button to add them to your plan.

Reading a drill card#

Closed, the card shows the drill’s name, its goal, what the app recommends it for (“For: meeting the ball further in front”), how many minutes it takes and What you need: Just your racket, Wall, Basket of balls, Cones or Partner.

Open it with Show the drill to see:

  • Before you start, Steps and How much (sets and reps).
  • Feel cue: a feeling to keep in mind while you hit.
  • Common mistake and By level (your level is highlighted).
  • How to check it in Racketlens: which number should move and which way, e.g. “Contact in front of the body: should go up”.

Your practice plan#

  1. Add drills. Press Add to my plan on any card. It shows In your plan; press again to take it out.
  2. Practise and tick it off. After practising, press Done today. One mark per day; if you got it wrong, Take back today’s mark.
  3. See your week. The plan adds up how many drills you did this week (Monday to Sunday) and how many minutes, and how many times you did each one.

The plan belongs to each player and is saved in your account: you see the same plan on the club’s computer and at home.

The library#

Browse the drill library opens all 58 drills, filtered by stroke. Tick Only what I can do without a partner if you practise alone: 19 drills need nothing but your racket, 37 use a wall or a basket of balls, and only 2 need a partner.

Did it work?#

Practise for a week or two, film another session from the same place and scan it. In History you’ll see whether the number the drill set out to move really changed, or whether the difference is still within the normal noise between sessions.
